Manifesting the life of your dreams through practicing mindfulness & exploring your creativity
For me mindfulness is a gateway tool to holistic health and freedom. Because the mind, man. It’s a doozy. If we are not aware of HOW we think, then we can fall into living unconsciously. This allows our subconscious mind and programming to take over. Like living on autopilot.
Practicing mindfulness helps us live conscious, intentional lives. Not only do we flow with more ease in our day to day, we also learn how to love ourselves and be with ourselves through the tough stuff.
I like to say that applying mindfulness tools and strategies during moments of calm allows for you to move through moments of chaos consciously. Sitting with yourself regularly, setting a morning ritual is especially helpful to set the tone for your day. Using tools such as guiding your awareness, breathing meditations, and journaling – all in daily repetition allows them to be easily accessible to us when we need to regulate during difficult situations.
It is so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life. Living mindfully gifts us conscious flow. Because let’s be real. How many times have you fallen into doing something because you think you should, or you used to want to, or someone said it’s the way to go. And then suddenly you’re wondering why you are unhappy. With practicing mindfulness, always checking in with yourself. You’re actively living through making conscious (woke) choices.
There is so much I want to share about mindfulness. Because I believe it is just the tip of the iceberg (and so is this blog post) as well as the gateway because when you are able to be present with your thoughts, your feelings, your physical body without attachment or judgment, you are truly free to your experience.
We must make friends with our mind. It is your lens to your reality.
In a very general sense, mindfulness is being present without judgment. Becoming aware that you are aware, that in this moment you are having an experience. You are having thoughts about that experience. And you exist, in this moment.
We are often carried away by thoughts of the past or thoughts of the future. Although we need to reflect and we need to plan, when we are not intentionally reflecting or planning, we are essentially not present in the moment.
Now I must say that I truly believe daydreaming to be important. As a dreamer and someone with a very active imagination, I deeply believe that daydreaming can be a meditative act. As someone who also lives with anxiety, I am also overly aware of when I am wasting my imagination energy on worrying. But again becoming aware of the difference is important. And that my friend is an example of polarities at work. We live in a world of duality and this is something through mindfulness you can actively work on balancing or neutralizing the judgment of good or bad. When my mind is wandering and I am feeling anxious I can notice and remind myself lovingly that worrying is not helpful, recognize where I am in the moment and what is true.
If we observe the mind as a tool, as one part of our experience that very much guides our understanding of our emotions, body, and soul – we can use mindfulness as a means of not only shaping our perceptions of our whole being experiences but also shape lives we actually enjoy living. That is why I see mindfulness as a means of manifesting or creating the lives of our dreams. This is a journey. But we are all actively manifesting the lives we are leading. We are creating our experiences – either consciously or unconsciously.
Don’t you want to actively be creating a life that you love?
Don’t you want to tune into your true essence and live and love from that energy?
As someone who has always loved to create art and music and write and draw and paint — I never truly understood the connection of the arts and human nature. I just loved to express myself in all of these weird and fun and as far as the classical musician stuff goes – intense and difficult ways.
Creative expression is nothing new to being human. It has always been a major part of our societies and cultures — although as of late not so much revered or respected or supported within communities. I could go on and on about why I think that is, but the bottom line is the power in art and creative expression for true healing. It breaks us free.
We are Creative Beings by nature. Expression and creativity I believe are the answer to truly understanding ourselves, who we’ve been, and who we want to become.
Practicing mindfulness has brought me back to that true nature within myself. Finding my flow. Authentically expressing myself. Healing through it all.
Many artists showcase depths of the human experience that a lot of people are afraid to touch, but by diving deep you experience parts of yourself in a way that expands your awareness and consciousness.
So how does Mindfulness & Creativity Coaching work?
Well, first and foremost it is different from therapy but works very well coupled with it. The goal of mindfulness coaching is to recognize your dreams and then recognize what obstacles are preventing you from living out those dreams.
During sessions we will discuss your deepest desires, dreams, and goals. We will discuss how using mindfulness and creative expression will help rewire your brain, bring more calm to your life, and refine your flow and connection to Source. When you are mindful of how you are consciously or unconsciously creating your life you are able to become an active manifester of your dream life!
