Pursuing Your Passions: Reflections on Resilience, Creativity, and Transformation✨

If the past few years have taught me anything, it’s to never give up — even when you think it’s over. Following your passions professionally is probably one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, no one EVER said it was easy but it is so worth it.

It’s been almost 10 years since I decided to pursue my dreams of performing professionally as a violinist and violist as well as teaching. The times in my life that I haven’t been actively playing music have been the most difficult for me and the time spent turning my passions into my career have been the most transformative. There was a time I thought I had to choose just one focus not realizing that embracing my multifaceted nature as an artist was the answer to true happiness.

From busking all around the US to founding a wedding quartet, from getting my Masters in Teaching to teaching and coaching hundreds of music, arts, yoga, and mindfulness students and clients, from running a music production studio to blossoming as a Creative Entrepreneur, from performing at Symphony Hall as a teenager to playing at the House of Blues in Boston as a professional musician, from recording in studios, playing in bands, orchestras, and ensembles to collab-ing with countless friends and music mentors, from getting my certification in yoga and mindfulness to being forced to sit with myself through the darkest time of my life battling arthritis and severe depression and anxiety to not knowing what the future had in store for ny of my hopes and dreams — I look back and I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s cliche, I know but it is so true. I have gained so much perspective through so many uplifting and challenging experiences.

One of the major lessons I have learned is that your hardships don’t define you or your journey. The mistakes, the failures, the rock bottoms, they are all the ultimate guiding moments refining your resiliency and your drive. You don’t need to prove to anybody — not even yourself — that you deserve to live the life you desire, the simple truth is that if you desire it then that sh*t is meant for you. The question is, are you willing to take the risk of actually doing the damn thing? Are you willing to say yes to doing the work to become the ultimate ‘you’ who makes those dreams happen? Because let me tell you, no one is going to do it for you (even if they say they will).

Even when you have a clear dream and a clear vision and you’re actively driving in that direction, you never know where you’ll end up. The co-creation journey with the Universe is the ultimate trip. How your manifestations unfold, well, those are just the fun party surprises.

I’ve been low-key practicing behind the scenes while chomping at the bit to relaunch The Purple Violinist. I wasn’t sure I’d be embracing her ever again, but the truth is no matter what she will always be a part of me. And we ain’t goin’ nowhere! Make sure to follow the @thepurpleviolinistofficial on Instagram to keep up with this next chapter!

Teaching being such a major part of who I am as a human, it’s really no surprise that I am now offering creative wellness coaching along with teaching music lessons. My obsession with all things holistic wellness and education, yoga, mindset, and mindfulness has inspired me to feel the call to mentor others who want to or are actively pursuing their passions professionally.
